Murray Estatic to be Back With B's

Glen Murray was starting to get worried. Well into the fourth round of the GDHL draft, the GDC Bruins had still not called his name. Some excitement had developed in the first round when the Bruins, without a first round pick after the trade for Savard early last season, made a trade to move up into the first round. "This is it!" Murray exclaimed, only to be met with disappointment when the Bruins named Daymond Lankow their first pick.

But that was a long time ago. Rounds 2 and 3 passed as well and Murray was met with more disappointment. "I really enjoyed playing with Savard last year." Murray explained, "All I have to do is stand in front of the net and he gets me the puck. It is an easy way to earn 4 million bucks."

And stand is what he did do for most of the season. Until the final month when he injured himself, causing the Bruins offense to become anemic, resulting in a second place finish for the Bruins.

Murray had almost given up hope of playing with his friend again, when he heard the Bruins call his name. Murray was estatic. "I don't know what to say...", Murray said with effort, tears rolling down his cheek. "I'll prove to GM Mike that I can stay healthy for the entire year. We'll get first place this year, I promise!". As he was leaving the podium, Murray missed the top step and tumbled down the stairs. As he was being carried away strapped to a stretcher, he yelled "I'll be better for November Mike, I promise!".
